Granny Square Kerchief Free Crochet Pattern

 Remember these ?

I sure do.
This was the very first pattern I learned and I made several back in the day.  As all fashion does, they are back in style and I'm busy making them for everyone.
Great way to use up odd balls of yarn.
The more color, the better some say !
Easy, easy pattern

Size J crochet hook

Ch 4
Row 1: 2 dc's, ch 2, 2 dc's in 4th ch from hook, ch 3, turn
Row 2: 2 dc's in 1st dc of previous row (same st as ch 3), ch 1,  (3 dc's, ch 2, 3 dc's, ch 1) in ch 2 space (corner) , 2 dc's in top of ch 3 from previous row. ch 3, turn.
Row 3: 2 dc's in same st as ch 3, ch 1, 3 dc's in next ch 1 space, ch 1 ,(3 dc's, ch 2, 3dc's, ch 1) in ch 2 space (corner), 2 dc's in top of ch 3 from previous row. Ch 3, turn.

Just continue this pattern until piece measures the size you need to fit around your head.
I do 11 Rounds, plus Shell finish
You can sc around outside to give it a more finished look, I used a shell pattern.
Shell Pattern:  5 dc's in each ch 1 sp, sc on top of middle dc of previous row. 7 dc's at the corner. Or just leave it.
For Ties: Attach yarn at corner and ch 50, fasten off. Repeat for other side.
Weave in all ends
That's It !! Easy
