Shea Butter is a product you might be surprise about when you first open it, it's solid. Pure Shea Butter is very thick and solid, but just scrape out a bit and place it in the palm of your hand and it warms up with your body heat and becomes easy to spread onto your skin.
My skin drinks up Shea Butter and I find I don't have to reapply it every 1/2 hour like I have with lotions that say they have Shea Butter in them. I'm sure there is Shea Butter in those lotions, but not enough to do any good in my opinion. 100% Shea Butter may seem more expensive than those lotions you can pick up at boxstores, but do the math.
