BuySoapNuts.com 2.2lbs of Soap Nuts Giveaway Ends 2/1

GIVEAWAY

What are Soap Nuts?

They are actually not nuts at all.  They are berries (also known as Soap Berries) that grow on trees in India & Nepal.  There are two main varieties: sapindus trifoliatus (The Small Soap Nut) and sapindus mukorossi (The Large Soap Nut).  The Large Soap Berry is the most commonly used in cleaning, but both varieties are quite effective.

How do They Work as a Detergent?

They contain large quantities of saponin in their shells. It acts as a natural, gentle detergent when it comes into contact with water. Without any chemicals, fragrances or dyes, they are safe and gentle for handwashing delicates. They are also tough enough for regular laundry. They will leave your clothes soft, clean and fragrance free.  No need to use of fabric softeners.

They can be used, in the liquid form, for cleaning just about anything.  From dish washer detergent, to window & glass cleaner, to repairing oily or dry hair. They are a great multi-purpose cleaner.

******************************

I have been fascinated with Soap Nuts since I first heard about them last year. I have discovered that they not only work very well as a laundry soap, they make a great all purpose cleaner for around your home.

"Soap Nuts contain saponin, a natural disinfectant when immersed in water.

BuySoapNuts.com has a simple recipe, scroll down on the page, for boiling down some Soap Nuts and making a liquid solutions to use on windows, counters and hand soap.  Soap Nuts are even safe to use as a shampoo for you and your pets!
Talk about a product that does a lot!

When the Soap Nuts are used up, when they turn grey and mushy, you can toss them into the compost pile.
Since Soap Nuts do not suds up a bunch, it is easy to use as a all purpose cleaner.  I mixed up some liquid and used about 3 Tablespoons in a gallon of warm water and cleaned my kitchen floor, counters, refrigerator and counters. I am very pleased with how clean everything looks and I don't see any film or sticky residue.

I have been using them in the washer for a week now and I can say that I am very pleased with the results.  I really can't smell any odors from the clothes after a wash, they just smell clean and a big plus, no residue feeling on them either. Since the Soap Nuts did not leave a residue film on my clothes, my towels are softer after drying.

I have very sensitive skin and other laundry soaps really irritate my skin, I haven't experience any problems with using the Soap Nuts.
