Instead of having their misprinted and obsolete packaging end up in landfills, we reuse them to make our handbags. So far, Ecoist has saved more than 40 million wrappers from landfills.
Ecoist plants a tree for every handbag sold. In partnership with Trees for the Future, Ecoist has contributed to reforestation efforts around the world. So far, we’ve planted over 100,000 trees in places like Haiti, India, and Uganda.

I remember making small coin sized pouches and bracelets out of gum wrappers when I was a child, Ecoist has taken that simple idea and made that project grow up into these beautiful Baguette's.
Ecoist Baguette's are the cutest clutches I have seen in a long time, I love my Green Love M & M Baguette, it truly fits my personality.
The baguette's are very well constructed and I found it is the perfect size, 5 x 10 inches, for everyday use and large enough to hold the essentials I need when I run to the store.
Ecoist offers a wide range of eco friendly products, such as chip bowls, serving trays and even Recycled Record Coasters.
One of my goals this year is to become more aware of companies that truly are eco friendly and companies that focus on the importance of recycling, reusing, re-purposing normally discarded items, Ecoist is one of these companies. I love that they have teamed up with so many companies and are giving back the the earth but planting a tree with every handbag purchase made. It is unbelievable how must waste is thrown out by large and small manufacturing companies and I'm so happy to see that there is a company like Ecoist that are doing something to help eliminate some of the pile up at the dumps.
I have always been the type of person who looks at things we would normally throw away and ask myself if there was something I could reused it for. Even in our woodworking shop we used recycled woods that others would have just tossed out or put in the burn pile. I also like working with metals and the majority of the material I design with is "thrown out" waste from construction jobs. Just goes to prove, "other mans waste is other mans treasures"
